The City of Vandalia received a $3 million Regional Site Readiness Program award from the State of Illinois to support road and water improvements serving 97 acres at Vandalia Industrial Park.
The investment is designed to move the property closer to development readiness, strengthen its ability to compete for future industrial investment, and expand the community’s capacity to attract employers and job opportunities.
The award was part of $31 million announced for site-readiness work across Illinois. For our community, it represents an important step toward converting available land, infrastructure planning, and regional access into a stronger economic-development opportunity.
Site readiness is a long-term competitiveness issue. Preparing utilities, transportation access, and developable acreage helps communities respond more effectively when businesses and site selectors evaluate potential locations.
